About me

I am a cognitive scientist and former lawyer who helps people learn and reason more effectively. I think we can learn a lot when we think together.

On the Tubes

I post videos on my Youtube channel most Wednesday mornings. Topics include effective learning and teaching strategies, myths about learning, insights into reasoning and problem solving, advice on research methods, discussions of scientific thinking, and cognitive biases.

Avoiding Folly

I also send out an email newsletter once-a-week, which is completely free. It's about the mistakes that we make when we try to transform knowledge into action – and how we can avoid them. Sign up here.

Coming Soon

If you're looking for more guidance on study strategies, instructional design, or research methods, I'm developing guides for purchase in the coming months. And eventually, I plan on developing a membership site for students, teachers, and researchers who want to stay up-to-date on the latest research and collaborate on learning experiments.
